D.Module.USB2plus top view

The D.Module.USB2plus connects your D.Module DSP Computer Board to a PC host via a USB 2.0 high-speed (480MBits/s) or USB 1.1 full-speed (12MBits/s) connection. This enables you to control and maintain your DSP system from any PC, and provides a fast, versatile, and easy-to-use communication path for data exchange.

The Development Package includes driver code for the DSP side, Microsoft Windows™ drivers and programer's API library for Win2000 and WinXP, and test and sample programs for DSP and PC side. The D.Module.USB2 is fully compliant with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 ports. Typical applications are

USB communication causes only little program overhead on the DSP. Once configured and initialized, the DSP's almost only task is writing and/or reading data directly to/from the USB controller. To further reduce DSP load, the Philips isp1582 USB peripheral controller provides up to 14 endpoints with 8 Kbyte shared FIFO memory. The architecture efficiently supports background DMA transfers, reducing CPU overhead to a minimum.
