Designed for embedded standalone applications requiring maximum performance and flexibility:

As with all members of the D.Module family, the D.Module.BIOS handles low-level hardware programming and lets you focus on the 'real' signal processing tasks. Special care has been taken to facilitate field maintenance and serviceability. The Setup Mode provides straightforward file upload for program and parameter updates via RS232 terminal. The Module Config File stores configuration data in human-readable ASCII format and provides script mechanisms to control system startup. Setup mode also provides basic debug capabilities for field diagnostics without requiring special emulation hardware.

The modular, self-stacking concept facilitates building complete signal processing systems. Excellent system adaptability is provided by the integration of reconfigurable logic: Up to 42 I/O signals are user-programmable and can be configured to a variety of interfaces ranging from bit-programmable I/O to quadrature encoder interfaces, PWM, CMOS image sensor interfaces, etc. - even surpassing the versatility of most microcontrollers.

The TMS320C6713 DSP uses the VelociTI™ modified VLIW architecture, with up to eight instruction units operating in parallel. A two-level chache archtecture and a large internal memory provide the bandwidth to guarantee highest throughput. Data acquisition and memory block transfers are handled in background by an enhanced 16 channel DMA controller. On the D.Module.C6713 the DSP's Host Port Interface is usable as an expansion port which provides an additional path for high-speed data acquisition peripherals, enabling very high sample rates to be handled without the need for external buffers and FIFOs.
